Yes. It's December 10th and we're still working out of a 900 square foot box and literally living out of boxes. It's been nine months since our returning to western New York and without much melodrama on my part; it's been a veritable shit-show. The house is not finished (if one more person asks why we haven't closed yet, I may just shit myself). Our stuff is in cold storage (slowly moving the important things from a non-climate controlled storage unit into our little home away from home as the winter kicks in), and we're looking our ages.
Most worsely; we're feeling our ages.
However, having written that, we continue to creep forward (at least in some areas of our lives).
When You Let Go is still moving forward. I am very happy to write that I will be reuniting with Recording/Mixing/Mastering Engineer Steve Forney to put the finishing touches on the upcoming album along with the following two planned releases. Steve and I first met way back in 1988 while Steve was Chief Engineer at PCI Studios in Rochester, NY. Steve and I would work together for the next seven years; producing Don't Look Back, Black Cat, and Home. Needless to say, I have so much respect for what Steve does and am absolutely thrilled to be working (and always learning) with him again.
With any luck, Steve and I will be recording vocals and any other necessary bits starting sometime in early 2022. There's much work on my part that needs doing and I'm doing it right now.
So, as we sit here, with our first-world issues, I raise a glass of...I am not sure what's in this glass...to wish you all a great rest of 2021.
Here's to a better year ahead (although, I have my doubts).
Merry Christmas! Happy holidays! Whatever you celebrate, celebrate it madly.
